Varlion Borurne Prisma Radio 2022
Bourne is a model that was born in 2018 from the fusion between the Cañon (diamond shape created in 2003) and the Avant (teardrop shape created in 2009). As a final result, we got a teardrop-shaped racket, designed for players looking for power in their game without giving up control.
One of the most important innovations of this model is the RADIO technology, which implies a revolution in the production, resistance and performance of paddle tennis rackets. With it we were able to produce the first shovel that comes out of its already perforated mold.
This is possible thanks to 2 factors: first, the development of a new mold which foresees the relief of the holes towards the outside; and secondly, the materials are pre-drilled and trimmed before being inserted into it. The sum of these factors makes the blade come out with the holes already made and with a rounded and regular radius.
The technical result is a very important increase in core strength and a 50% reduction in the use of fabrics.
Another of the great innovations of this model is the AirFlow technology, focused on giving fluidity to the passage of air through the blade through elongated holes placed between the frame and the core. As in the rest of the holes, Radio technology was also used in these.
This professional-grade padel racket has the Prisma frame, with which we managed to reduce the contact point of the frame against walls and surfaces by 90%, as well as 10% air resistance. All this translates into better racket maneuverability and greater acceleration capacity on shots.
Instead, we reinforced its most fragile point (the head) with an adhesive protector that adapts perfectly to its shape, the Prisma protector. This not only covers the frame, but also its union with the plane of the blade.
When it comes to applying effects to shots, it features a rough texture on the plane called the Slice, which has been designed and developed with a series of curved lines that make the ball surface stick more closely.
As the name suggests, the Bourne Summum Prisma Radio includes Summum technology in its construction, which is based on the sum of several factors:
- A longer grip than usual to provide the player with a more comfortable and professional grip, and also to make it easier for those with both hands to hit their backs.
- A striking surface longer than 1 cm.
- A gradual perforation pattern with a greater number of holes (76 in total), to improve and expand the sweet spot of the racquet.
- And Wings Diffuser technology in the heart, with an aerodynamically improved diffuser, which offers greater handling and precision.
Finally, the Handlesafety technology, a new safety system for the handle, should be noted. Normally all blades have a centered exit hole for positioning the rope, which is fixed to the handle structure by means of a pin, rivets, nails, etc. However, with this system, the rope goes through the two walls of the handle and exits on both sides of the ferrule, thus providing 100% safety and comfort in the handle.
